The Library Is Haunted!

Sometimes when I am at the desk alone I sense someone watching me.

I hear noises all the time. Books end up in the wrong place on the shelf!

The library has to be haunted.

I read enough horror to know a haunted building when I see one.

Think about it.

If you were a ghost where would you hope to linger?

The library is filled with stories and events and life and people. Not just any people, but people that are looking to read (or watch or listen to) ghost stories.

Stories about ghosts. It must be very self-validating for a ghost.

What are the options?

One could haunt an old victorian mansion. But there is always some matriarch telling children, “don’t be silly, there’s no such thing as ghosts!”

It would make that haunting business much more difficult.

With Halloween right around the corner, now is the time to be haunted or horrified or scared out of your mind.

And 2018 has been a great year for new horror books for adults.

Not only are there new books by the old favorites like Stephen King and Dean Koontz.

There are a bunch of newcomers ready to make you shiver.

We will talk about White Is for Witching by Helen Oyeyemi at the historic Methodist Campground on October 20th.
