Wednesday Crafternoons

It’s Wednesday. Let’s Bust Out the BUBBLES!

Bubbles
The building is still closed but the library is open.

Bubbles are always a big hit.

Kids and adults alike enjoy playing with them.

And to think all they are is soapy water.

Transformation much?

They're light, they're airy, they POP!

Some people like to run through sprinklers.

We like to run through bubbles.

But not only are they fun to play with, they're also great for getting crafty.

This week, we're going to make some unique bubble art.

All you need is some paper, food coloring, bubble solution and wands of various sizes.

Some tape and scissors may also come in handy.

Let's go burst some bubbles!

Step 1

Step 1

Lay out your paper.

Put newspaper or a plastic tablecloth underneath to avoid stains.

Step 2

Step 2

Make your bubble "paint."

Pour a quarter cup of bubble solution in a small bowl and mix in some food coloring.

Use separate bowls for different colors.

Step 3

Step 3

Blow, Blow, Blow!

Blow bubbles onto your paper.

Do this until you're all bubbled out or until you run out of room, whichever comes first.

Step 4

Step 4

Let it dry for several hours.

Overnight is ideal.

Step 5

Step 5

Get more creative (optional).

If you used several papers, tape them together to create a large poster.

Or you can cut out shapes! We made some hearts.

POP!

♫ "POP" GOES THE BUBBLE ♫

Simple but pretty.

How did yours turn out?

Snap a couple of photos, tag them #DPCrafternoons and share with us on Facebook and Instagram.

Here's an idea.

Break out a bubble machine, throw on some music, and grab some food.

In other words, have an outdoor bubble party.

Then, everyone has a good time.

Try these other bubble activities too!

We promise, you won't regret it.

Until next week!
