DPPL Will Pump You Up With a New Obstacle Course

It is another installment of DPPL's Move & Groove Tuesday coming from the Des Plaines Park District.

Each week look for a new fun way to get moving around Des Plaines.

We'll post them on DPPL's Facebook and Instagram pages and here on the blog. 

If it rains, no worries! 

We will have a fun indoor activity for you to do instead!

So, this week we tried something different!  We are not racing this time, but adding enhancements. 

So we decided to add some extra activities to a typical walk/jog/run on the paths at Prairie Lakes.  So, as you are on the path, be sure to look down and to the right to see these activities.  Our enhancements start near the main building!

 

 

First up, a warm up!
DPPL Warm Up

We took over the campers line to get kiddos and adults some fun warm up activities, before they hit the paths!

So be sure to warm up with some kicks and jumps!

 

 

 

Now, the main event
Lunges

We created some challenges on both sides of the running path to add something extra to your walk/run!  

So, be sure to show off your abilities to roll your arms, lunge, perform a burpee, and push-ups. 

We even have a cool down area as you make your way back to the parking lot!  

 

(gulp! those are difficult)
