Each week, Rocky will be heading to different landmarks in Des Plaines. It is up to the kiddos of Des Plaines to GUESS where he is.

Rocky is back and visiting another important location in Des Plaines. This time, he is looking to go on a trip. ⁠



Here are some clues . . .⁠

Several forms of transportation travel through here (can you name them all?)⁠

- This location received its name in 1859⁠

- Union Pacific Northwest line runs through this location (this line is 70 miles long from start to finish)⁠

- People come here mostly to travel to Chicago⁠

- About 40,000 people a week travel on this route (in 2019)⁠

- It the second busiest line in the Chicagoland area.⁠

Rocky is back and visiting another landmark in Des Plaines.

This time, he is looking for one of the oldest buildings in Des Plaines. Here are some clues . . .

  • It was built in 1907
  • It was moved to its current address on Pearson Street in 1978 (it was originally built on Lee Street)
  • Today it is a museum (one that you might have visited with your class)

This week they are searching for entertainment options when the stay-at-home order is lifted.

  • This building plans to reopen in fall 2020 after being closed since 2014
