Where’s Rocky?

Rocky Raccoon to the Rescue!

Rocky Raccoon

We know that we have a bunch of super readers in Des Plaines!

Rocky Raccoon is all about reading. After all he IS  the mascot of the Des Plaines Public Library's school-year reading programs (Patch Club and 1KB4K).

And he wants you to keep up the good work you are doing during the stay-at-home order.

Even though the library building is closed right now, Rocky Raccoon has a mission for all to do from the safety of your home.

Your mission is as follows . . .

1.  Keep up your reading for Patch Club and 1KB4K!

We cannot wait to see you all when we open, to collect those logs and bookmarks!

Check out our databases, like Tumblebooks and Hoopla, which offers you tons of listening and reading resources.

2.  Color a picture of our favorite raccoon, Rocky!

DOWNLOAD THE ROCKY RACCOON COLORING PAGE HERE

Then, be sure to hang it up in a window or doorway, so all can see your artistic side (and know that you are a super reader)

3.  Send us a photo of your finished picture or where you displayed it.

You can upload and tag us on Facebook (@DPLibrary) Twitter (@DPPL), and Instagram (@des.plaines.library)

Or email the photo to YouthServicesDesk@dppl.org

That's it!

We hope that you keep reading during this stay-at-home order, and we are excited to see everyone soon!
