★ Who can use The Canvas? – You must be a Des Plaines Library cardholder to use the Canvas. Patrons must be at least 12 years of age to use library equipment in this space. Patrons under 15 years of age must be under the direct supervision of an adult, with specific equipment (indicated by signage) requiring staff approval. 

★ Do I need to make a reservation? – Yes, machines and work space require a reservation, but walkins may be available in there are no prior reservations made. You must attend an orientation before using any equipment.  

★ Is there a cost to use the makerspace? – There is no cost to use the space, but material fees may apply. See the Materials & Cost Chart for details. 

★ Can I bring my own materials? – Yes, as long as they are on the Approved Materials List.
