Hey, Kiddos! It's time for a new edition of DIY with DPPL! This month, make your own beaded pumpkin!

Starting on Saturday, October 18th, stop by the Youth Services desk on the second floor of DPPL to pick up a kit (while supplies last!), and then use the materials to do the project we show you step-by-step in the video.

Each year, the World Health Organization chooses a theme for World Mental Health Day, which falls on October 10.

The 2025 World Mental Health Day theme focuses on the essential nature of mental health resource access during catastrophes and emergencies.

Des Plaines Public Library is one of 24 recipients awarded the “My Library Is…” grant from Reaching Across Illinois Library Systems (RAILS) this past April.

This grant is designed to help libraries tell their story, and increase the number and types of collection materials for patrons related to accessibility and assistive technology.
