DPPL Is Making Life Easier, One Gadget at a Time

Des Plaines Public Library is one of 24 recipients awarded the “My Library Is…” grant from Reaching Across Illinois Library Systems (RAILS) this past April.

This grant is designed to help libraries tell their story, and increase the number and types of collection materials for patrons related to accessibility and assistive technology. 

Libraries care.

DIY With DPPL: Hanging Opossums

Hey, Kiddos! It's time for a new edition of DIY with DPPL! This month, make your own hanging opossum!

Starting on Saturday, September 20th, stop by the Youth Services desk on the second floor of DPPL to pick up a kit (while supplies last!), and then use the materials to do the project we show you step-by-step in the video.

(Grade 1 and up.)

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with Cafecito Y Libritos,  DPPL’s Spanish Book Club

There’s a lot in the world to be uncertain about, but if there’s one thing I have always been sure of, it has to be the power of food!

Food brings people and community together and that’s what the library is all about!

Meeting wonderful new people and trying new things of all sorts! 

Food, and more specifically, cultural traditions are a huge part of Cafecito Y Libritos, DPPL’s Spanish Book Club of Two Years!
