EXTREME WEATHER CLOSING AND WARMING CENTER INFO: The library will be closed Friday, January 23rd, due to the dangerously frigid temperatures and will reopen to the public at 9 am on Saturday. Meeting Room C, the north lobby, and 1st floor public restrooms ONLY will remain open to the public from 9 am to 5 pm on Friday, January 23rd for public use as a warming center.
Starting May 1st, Des Plaines Public Library is joining hundreds of libraries across the United States, and 23 other libraries in our local CCS consortium, in eliminating overdue fines!
We look forward to welcoming past users back and meeting new members of the community!

In the April edition of the Des Plaines Memory Newsletter, we take a look at our urban spaces. For better or worse, the downtown landscape is always changing, and not every building will stand the test of time.
Also in this edition: trashy sign of the times; history-related Zoom events; and more!
