Security Monitor Part-Time (17.5 hours per week)
The Des Plaines Public Library is looking for a part-time Security Monitor, a responsible, service-oriented individual to provide a safe, friendly, and functional environment for patrons and staff. This position requires the ability to exercise sound judgement in difficult situations. Main duties include handling emergency situations, de-escalating patron conflicts, opening and closing the building, making regular rounds, documenting safety issues, and assisting with setting up and taking down library programs.
Minimum qualifications
· High School Degree.
· Previous experience in security or a related field
· Valid Illinois Driver’s License
· Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
Hours
17.5 hours per week. Sunday 12:30pm-5:30pm, Monday 5:30pm-9:30pm and Saturday 8:30am-5:30pm
Salary
This position will start in between $18-$25 an hour DOQ.
Includes paid time off.
