We offer a variety of services to support parents and caregivers, including storytimes and other programs. For homeschooling parents, please visit the Teachers section.

We are also proud to introduce our new online Autism Resource Center for families, caregivers, those on the autism spectrum and anyone seeking information on autism and related services.

Parenting Collection

This collection assists parents with child development from infancy through adolescence. Includes a variety of magazines and appropriate information for sensitive parenting issues.

Mobile Library Services

The “big bus” visits 39 sites throughout the city of Des Plaines. Collection includes books and other items for children of all ages. Mobile Library Schedule

Online Resources

We subscribe to several online resources with age-appropriate content specifically geared to K-8 curriculum. These are especially helpful for subjects with limited print resources. Most of the databases are available through our Web site from home or school with a Des Plaines library card.
