To receive a Babysitter's Certificate, it is necessary to attend all four sessions and pass an open book final examination. Library staff and guest speakers from the City's health, fire, and police departments will cover such subjects as entertainment of children, infant and child care, first aid and fire safety, and tips for a babysitter’s safety. Speakers for this session include Kelli Phillips from the library’s Youth Services Department, City of Des Plaines Nurse Madeline May, Steve Davis from the City of Des Plaines Fire Department, and Tara Baggott from the City of Des Plaines Police Department.
