The Assistive Technology room on the third floor has a Reading Edge machine, an image magnifier, a Perkins Brailler typewriter, and Braille slates and styluses, all for use in the library. Magnifying glasses may be found at all service desks.

Devices and materials that may be checked out include a closed-circuit television, Chicagoland Radio Information Service receivers, Adapt-a-Lap book and magazine holders, large print books, and books on cassette and compact disc.

Homebound delivery is available for people who are permanently or temporarily immobilized. Services also include Voices of Vision books and magazines for those with sight or physical impairments and videotapes for the hearing-impaired from the federal captioned media program.
