Mrs. Plotsky has been lying dead on the laundry room floor all night when a neighbor discovers her body. Conscientious Frances hates to leave a mess so she stuffs Mrs. Plotsky into one of the washing machines - thank goodness for those double load machines that the cooperative purchased - and runs Mrs. P. through the gentle cycle. Not gentle enough apparently, so Frances manages to stuff her into a dryer on the lowest setting to fluff her up a bit.
Thus starts a hilarious chain of events involving Frances, Mrs. Plotsky, the New York City Library, and the Patriot Act.
