Des Plaines Executive Coordinator of Homeland Security Emergency Management Michael Kozak has announced that eight Emergency Information Center Kiosks have been strategically located throughout the City’s eight wards to provide access to written information in times of emergency, such as floods and other incidences when communication to the City’s residents is imperative. When not in use for this purpose, these kiosks may be used by the appropriate aldermen to convey information pertinent to the residents of that ward.

Emergency Information Kiosks, which are red in color and resemble newspaper boxes, are located at the following sites:

• Ward 1 - Rand Road and Hawthorn Lane
• Ward 2 - 1492 Henry Avenue (Christ Church/outside)
• Ward 3 - Prairie Lakes Community Center, 515 E. Thacker Street (inside building)
• Ward 4 - Brentwood Baptist Church Parking Lot, 588 Dara James Road
• Ward 5 - Lake Park Golf Course, 1005 Howard Avenue (inside building)Ward 6 - Des Plaines Park District’s Administrative & Leisure Center, 2222 Birch Street (inside)
• Ward 7 - Chippewa Park (by Concession Stands) 123 Eighth Avenue
• Ward 8 - Rosemary Argus Friendship Park Conservatory, 395 Algonquin Road (inside building)
