The members of the board are residents of Des Plaines appointed by the Mayor for 3 year terms. The board is responsible for setting policies and procedures to provide for the library's financial stability and the community's service needs. The board has adopted
Vision and Belief Statements to aid in these decisions.

Board meeting announcements and agendas - these include special meetings and committee meetings not listed below.
Regular monthly Board meetings are held at the library on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at
7:00 p.m. in the second floor Conference Room, except where noted. Everyone is welcome to attend these meetings.
Library Board meetings are videotaped and available on Channel 24. Get the program schedule. DVD copies of the meetings are also available for checkout on the library's 4th floor. Beginning in 2011, regular monthly Board meetings will also be available online via Vimeo - go to the Library's Vimeo channel.
