    What better way to welcome spring than an after-hours party at the library. You'll enjoy food, drinks, entertainment, inter-active programs and more, all for one low admission price.     Do the Dewey!

    The fourth annual “Do the Dewey” FUNdraiser will be held at the library from 7-10 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, and everyone is invited. Admission is $35 in advance and $40 at the door. Dress is business casual.

    The cost of admission includes food, beer, wine, soft drinks, live music, entertainment and interactive programs. Raffle tickets will be sold for a wide variety of valuable prizes.

    Midway Ramblers Cajun Band will perform Cajun, Zydeco and Louisiana Blues music throughout the evening and will present a Cajun dance demonstration with dance instruction.

    Program sampler
    King Tut

    Programs and activities will take place throughout the building. They will include:

    • a slide lecture on “The Return of Tut” by art historian Jeff Mishur
    • a honey tasting, a lecture on beekeeping and a display of honey-related products by My Honey Co.
    • an ice cream tasting by Capannari’s
    • aura readings by The Clairvoyant Center of Chicago
    • a stamping workshop

    Raffle prizes galore

    Local artist Tina Mazzoni Solarz will demonstrate painting with pastels.

    She will also donate an original painting, created especially for the event, as a raffle prize. The painting, which has an angel theme, is titled, "Sogni d'Oro," which translates as "Golden Dreams."

    Framing and matting for the painting are being donated by Prairie Lee Print & Frame.

    The Quilting Divas will demonstrate quilting techniques and will donate an original quilt as a raffle prize.

    Box seats with parking for a Chicago Cubs baseball game will also be raffled.

    More activities and prizes are being planned.
